Structural classification of corrugated boxes
According to the structure of corrugated boxes, they can be roughly divided into three categories:
(1) Slotted carton (type 02)
Slotted carton is a basic box type in transportation packaging, and it is also a widely used carton. It is a carton composed of one or several pieces of processed corrugated cardboard, which are combined by stapling or gluing. Its bottom and top pieces (upper and lower flaps) constitute the bottom and cover of the box. This type of carton can be folded and laid flat during transportation and storage, and has the advantages of small size, convenient use, sealed and dustproof, and clean inside and outside.
(2) Sleeve type carton (type 03)
The nesting type carton is composed of one or several pieces of processed corrugated cardboard. The advantages of this type of carton are that it is convenient to pack and seal, the goods are not easy to fall off after being loaded, and the overall strength of the carton is higher than that of the slotted carton. The disadvantage is that the volume is large after the sleeve is formed, and the transportation and storage are inconvenient.
(3) Folding carton (type 04)
Folding carton, also known as special-shaped carton, usually consists of a piece of corrugated cardboard, which is folded to form the bottom, side, and cover of the carton without stapling and gluing.
In addition, in order to protect the goods from damage during transportation, according to the characteristics and requirements of different goods, it is necessary to design accessories with reasonable structure to protect the goods.
Usually the basic carton accessories are:
(1) Pads: According to the different shapes and weak parts of the goods, various pads are designed to fix the goods, ensure that the goods will not move during transportation, and have a buffering effect.
(2) Partition: It is used for packaging fragile and fragile items such as bottles, and separates each item in the box to prevent shaking and collision.
(3) Liner: There are basically three types of liner: one is full liner, which is used for multi-layer stacking in the box and used for layered isolation. The other is the bridge liner, which is used for the closing of the flap in the carton to level the gap. There is also a lining ring. In order to improve the compressive strength of the carton and protect the goods, linings are surrounded on all four sides of the carton.
